Just started using SpaceMonger and windows takes up 30 gig of my hard drive. What can I safely get rid of I only have 39gig to start with?

What you said doesn't exactly nail down what's going on for you. I'm presuming from what you wrote that you have a 40-gigabyte hard drive and that the C:\Windows directory is consuming 30 gigabytes of it; is that correct, or is something else going on?

Yes. I was full of .msp files. 30 gig of them. I read a blog that said it could be an update that would not install. 2005 visual . It would give me an error message. I hope that helps

If those .msp files are located in the c:\windows directory, they're probably unnecessary: That suggests to me that you had a Microsoft product (Windows, Office, Visual Studio, etc.) that was trying to update itself and didn't update itself correctly, and it may be broken in some way. That said, without a thorough investigation of the files in question, I can't tell you which ones are bad and which ones can be deleted: That would require more knowledge of obscure corners of Microsoft product upgrades than I know. My guess is that they can probably be deleted; but it would be wise to get a second opinion from somebody who knows the Microsoft Installer better than I do.
