This is a list of the features that are most often requested, and because they're so often requested, they're the most likely features to get implemented in the next versions. Before you propose a new feature, please make sure that it's not in this list already. (Note that these are in no particular order.)
- Scan multiple disks together as though they were one disk.
- Scan remote servers quickly using some additional piece of software installed on the server.
- Save a scan to a file / reload a previous scan from a file.
- Scan diffs: Visual comparison of changes from a previous scan.
- Color files by size or by date, instead of by hierarchical position or filename.
- Better memory management (for scanning multi-terabyte disks).
- More interface customization (allow the user to rearrange the button bar and toolbars).
- More fields and customizable fields in the selection bar (creation time, owner, dimensions, etc.).
- Performance statistics (how fast it's scanning, how many MB/sec, how much memory it uses, etc.).
- Drag-and-drop of files and folders.
- Printing the treemap, charts, or selection bar.
- Export treemap or charts to image files.
- Export scanned file list to a database or spreadsheet.
- Import file lists from plain text, XML, or CSV files instead of scanning. [partially added in v2.2]
- Image previews for image files instead of displaying icons. [partially added in v2.2]
- Support Windows Vista's soft links. [added in v2.2]
- Skip specific paths during scanning. [added in v2.2]
- A Linux port.
- A MacOS X port.
